For ceremonies they add a special quality touch, which people will always remember; for drinks receptions, soothing and relaxing music to round off a perfect day! The harp repertoire can include classical pieces, Celtic or traditional pieces and medieval music. For receptions, popular music is included.

Sarah Deere-Jones LRAM LGSM

A graduate and prize winner from the Royal Academy of Music, Sarah's extensive experience includes performing light music programes in top London Hotels such as the Ritz, Savoy, Grosvenor House and Waldorf, and at corporate entertainment events in the Royal Albert Hall, British Museum, London Palladium and the National History Museum. She played in the middle East for Ramada Hotels for six months and was harpist aboard the QE2 for aproximately 8 years, as well as playing in West End shows, opera and ballet orchestras, major London symphony orchestras and appearing on radio and TV.

Sarah has been playing for weddings for many years and has a varied repertoire for five different types of harps to choose from! From the historic medieval 'Gothic' harp of the 15th and 16th centuries, to the unique silvery sounding wire-strung harp, the traditional Celtic harp for Welsh, Irish Scottish and Cornish repertoires, the fantastic 'new age' sound of the Electric harp, and last but by no means least, the gorgeous sound and sight of the full size Concert Grand, for classical, jazz and light popular music. She plays for ceremonies and drinks receptions for up to two hours total duration and can arrange special music by request.

Free personalised Harp CD!

After years of experience playing the harp at weddings, Sarah does not recommend harp music during meals, the harp is too quiet and noise levels soon rise during meals with the excited chatter of guests, the sound of cutlery and catering staff walking about, it is not the best moment to employ a live musician! However if you book Sarah to play for your ceremony or drinks reception, she will provide a complimentary personalised harp CD of herself playing which you can use during your meal, with any special pieces used during your ceremony included on it, to make a really special musical souvenir of your day!

When shopping around for a harpist make sure you use one who is properly qualified - the minimum qualification for a professional performer is a performers diploma (LRAM LGSM ARCM etc) and any properly qualified musician will not mind you asking about their qualifications at all. Would you use a hairdresser or chauffeur who was not qualified for your wedding?!!

Sarah plays a remarkable variety of harps and music, above left can be seen the full size classical harp.

Left is the Medieval 'Gothic' harp although Sarah doesnt usually wear the authentic costume for weddings!

Right is the traditional Celtic harp, and far right the Electric (blue) harp.
